It All Starts with a Great Stainless Steel Square
With graduations reading right-to-left on one side and left-to-right on the other, you can measure from the ends, the inside corner or the outside corner. The laser-engraved graduations are held to a tolerance of ±.004" total accumulated error. The square is machined to a tolerance of ±.0085°…that's within .001" at the end of the 12" arm.
Add stops to the arms to scribe parallel to the edge of your stock. You'll find a notch machined in the end of each arm. With the stop locked on a specific dimension, the notch locates the center of your pencil lead precisely at the end of the arm, and keeps the pencil from rolling off the end as happens with flush end squares. With 2 arms and 2 stops, you can have 2 dimensions ready to scribe at the same time…really handy when you're locating offset corner dimensions.
The stops double as a stand for the square, keeping it upright for tasks like setting the height of a router bit or checking assemblies for square.
The caliper head takes the Setup Square to another level. Quickly and accurately measure square, round or oddly shaped items between the caliper head and one leg of the square (both are the same size, so it fits on either leg).
The Setup Square comes complete with two stops, the caliper head and a wall-mountable Rack-It to keep your tool right in plain sight and always ready to go to work.
Like all Woodpeckers products, the Setup Square is precisely machined and carefully inspected right here in our Strongsville, Ohio, facility just south of Cleveland.
