The Poplar 10 Board Foot Project Lumber Pack offers 10 board feet of carefully selected Character Poplar for a wide range of woodworking projects. Each pack includes boards measuring 3" to 10" wide, 48" long, and surfaced to 15/16". Poplar is valued for its straight, even grain, fine texture, and easy workability, making it well suited for machining with chisels, router bits, table saws, and hand tools. Its relatively soft hardwood structure also makes it a popular choice for painted projects because it resists splitting and accepts paint evenly without requiring grain fillers.
Character Poplar displays natural color variation, including light cream sapwood with olive-green, brown, purple, and darker mineral streaks that create a distinctive appearance for stained projects while also providing a stable foundation for painted work. Common applications include detailed millwork, internal furniture frames, cabinetry components, and general utility projects.
